Mr. Kannan's Philospohy

It so happened that aditya and me went to meet our prof about our project.
Ours was a research project as it was termed with a lot of new things to come up with
We were quite happy with the way things are going on
We came up with about 6-8 ideas that were entirely new and for which we could have taken patents :p

Well, this day, we went to meet him and asked him about our project
Then we happened to ask him how wud he see the progress in our project.
It was then he started his philosophy.

Listen to it in his own words::
" A researcher's life is always happy. Unlike in business, in research, there is only win win win.. In research, if u start out drawing a horse and you end up drawing a donkey, you can still publish that donkey and have fun. You can change the abstract of ur paper saying that I started out drawing a donkey and here it is... If in business you say that, the client will say that u didn't understand wat i meant and he will fire you. If u dont serve him properly, the client will leave you.. Its not that in research. In research, you can say that I respect the people who can draw horses but I drew only a donkey and I am glad for that. You can even say that I can only draw a donkey to my best. So, there is no losing in research. If we finish the project what we have started, it gives us immense pleasure. Even if we dont do it completely, the ideas that u learnt in attacking the problem will help you. Looking at the pace of the project, you must be able to complete it by november"

That was a good sign for us. If we continue to do the same for another 2months, then we might be the new talk of the towns :D
